SNUBBY SCHOOL
by Duane A. Daiker
- From US Concealed Carry Magazine / July 2009
"Even in this world of polymer high-tech
mega-capacity semi-autos, I still prefer to carry a wheel gun. I
own, shoot, and test a lot of bottom-feeder wonder guns, but I still
love revolvers." Read more >>

DON'T SNUB THAT SNUBBY
by Roger Lanny - From Women & Guns Magazine
/ January - February 2008
"Revolvers are dead. Everyone uses semi-automatics. Carry a wheelgun? Never. Well, don't believe everything you read or hear. Revolvers are very alive and well, thank you, and thriving in all the best places. They are used for both back-up guns and primary guns, with snubbies - those cute, little, short-barreled guns - making up a goodly percentage of those being carried in harm's way."

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS
by Bruce N. Eimer, PH.D. - From
Concealed Carry Magazine / May - June 2007
"Getting ill is no picnic. Over the past year, I have been burdened with increasing shoulder pain associated with bursitis and a bi-lateral shoulder impingement syndrome. Recently, I had to have surgery on my right (strong arm) shoulder to shave off a spur, relieve the inflammation, and release the impingement on my rotator cuff. Complications after general anesthesia necessitated my having to wear a urinary catheter for a couple of days. Too much information? Not really. I am leading to the point of this article."

Massachusetts-based Northeastern Tactical Schools." Read more >>
WHY REVOLVERS BEAT AUTOS
by Ralph Mroz - From Combat
Handguns
"Michael de Bethencourt
is a contrary man. A well-known knife instructor, he holds his knife “upside down” (tip forward, edge up). He prefers a stream or foam OC spray, while most instructors incline towards a fog pattern. And even during his tenure as a staff instructor at the SIGARMS Academy, he preferred the revolver as a defensive sidearm (and offered a course to that effect there). Now as the Director of Northeast Tactical Schools (a university-modeled school with 12 of the Northeast’s best- known instructors on staff), he continues to offer his popular Defensive Revolver classes." STUDENT REVIEWS
Michael,
Now that I’ve had a few minutes to decompress and let everything soak in, I just wanted to drop a line and let you know what I thought of this weekend’s course.
Perhaps most striking was the emphasis you put on teaching a dangerous curriculum with such extraordinary attention to safety. The fact that I was able to learn so much this weekend began with the safe training environment you established and maintained throughout the entire weekend.
Also notable was the positive attitude you displayed toward each student this weekend. I know firsthand the challenge that exists in trying to lead a diverse group of individuals through a dense lesson plan or world-class athletic training program. That you were able to continuously encourage and develop the students in the class, without discouraging words speaks volumes to your skills as an educator.
That you even had the foresight to ask whether the “shooting under stress” drill (on the first day) would be a problem for class members shows a level of understanding of your audience and subject matter that I have never seen in a shooting course; I asked my wife (an extremely active shooter) whether she had ever been offered such accommodation in any course she had took, and not only did she say no, but was impressed as I was that you would display such consideration.
In all, this class was worth the price and then some. Not only would I put my family behind the training I received this weekend, but will encourage my wife to take your course (she herself is an active shooter, and has taken a number of courses from Smith & Wesson, SIG, and other programs). In all, this may be the most economical $360 I have ever spent.
Best,
RZ
